All week long, regular tipping fees at Thunder Bay's Solid Waste and Recycling Facility are being waived. It's an annual event that provides homeowners an opportunity to dispose of accumulated junk at no charge.

City officials are asking people taking advantage of the service to organize items, such as e-waste, hazardous materials and recyclables, for proper disposal. The service is only free to residential users.

Commercial vehicles will still be required to pay normal tipping fees.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say they will be monitoring traffic to the site to ensure loads are properly covered and secured.
