Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Thunder Bay.

Officials with the government agency say a low pressure system over South Dakota is heading toward this region. As a result, freezing rain is moving across the district.

Several hours of freezing rain, with ice pellets at times, is expected.

While much of the precipitation around the Lake Superior shore is expected to be rain, freezing rain is likely in the morning.

Some areas could even see thunderstorms, heavier bursts of freezing rain or possibly small hail.
