THUNDER BAY -- Lincoln Galbraith is Hockey Northwestern Ontario's coach of the year for 2019-20.

Galbraith was behind the bench this past season with the Fort William Canadiens and has long made fair play a staple of his coaching philosophy, according to a release issued by HNO on Wednesday. No matter what the skill level, every player gets equal playing time on a Galbraith-coached team, including time on special teams.

"The Canadiens coaching team values the results off the ice over results on the ice, and as such, have a high return rate of players from season to season, regardless of on-ice success," the release reads.

"Parents and players alike have overwhelming support for Lincoln and the rest of the coaching staff. All of them put in countless hours in order to create good hockey players, and even better people."
