Gas prices continue to climb

Some stations have hiked prices as much as 13 cents a litre.

THUNDER BAY – The price of gasoline continues to skyrocket in Thunder Bay.

According to OntarioGasPrices.com, at least nine stations in the city have jacked the cost of a litre of regular unleaded fuel to $1.399, which is as much as 13 cents a litre more than it was at the start of the week.

The average price for a litre of regular unleaded in Ontario is $1.198.

A handful of stations are selling gas for $1.369 a litre, while Essos on Waterloo Street, Dawson Road and Hodder Avenue are listed with a litre of gasoline for $1.29.

Mountain View, on nearby Fort William First Nation, is the least expensive litre of fuel in the Thunder Bay area, with a price of $1.12.

A year ago gasoline was going on average in Ontario for 82 cents a litre.
