THUNDER BAY – Heading out to finish your last-minute Christmas shopping just got a little less expensive.
A number of stations have slashed the price of a litre of unleaded fuel to as low as $1.344, down from $1.549 the cost was hovering at last week.
Shell stations on Red River Road and Cumberland Street have made the jump. A number of Esso stations in the city have also dropped their price, to $1.497 a litre, which the Breakaway gas station on Oliver Road has dropped to $1.349 and Dawson General Store on Dawson Road is at $1.329.
The least expensive gas in the Thunder Bay area continues to be the K&A Variety and Gas Bar on City Road on Fort William First Nation, where a litre of regular unleaded only costs $1.13.
Several stations have yet to drop their price and sit at $1.549.
The Ontario average is $1.326 per litre, while the Canadian average is $1.371. Both are slightly up over Monday.
A year ago a litre of unleaded regular fuel cost, on average, $0.992 in Ontario.
