THUNDER BAY – Gas prices in Thunder Bay have started to spike again.
Stations across town on Wednesday have raised their prices eight cents a litre for regular unleaded, from $0.839 to $0.919, a 9.5 per cent jump.
The increase comes a day after First Class Gas at Fort William First Nation announced it was closing after police threatened to lay charges against customers and the business for not following the community’s edict closing all retail businesses until at least May 1 because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Ontario average, according to GasBuddy, is $0.798.
In February, the average gas price in Thunder Bay was $1.26 a litre.
