THUNDER BAY – Sticker shock at the gas pump keeps getting worse.

At least four stations in Thunder Bay have hiked the price of a litre of regular unleaded to an all-time high $2.129.

That’s a nine-cent increase.

Other stations have raised prices too, but a more modest three cents a litre, to $2.069. Several stations do remain under the $2 mark.

On nearby Fort William First Nation, K&A Variety and Gas Bar continues to offer the lowest price in the Thunder Bay area, charging $1.71 for a litre of regular unleaded, saving motorists $23 for a 55-litre fill-up over the city's most expensive price.

The Ontario average is currently $2.059, while the Canadian average is slightly less, at $2.017.
