THUNDER BAY – The price of gas is on the rise in Thunder Bay.
At least three stations in the Northwestern Ontario city have increased the price at the pumps to $1.179, according to the gas-price watchdog website gasbuddy.com.
That’s up seven cents from earlier in the day.
A number of stations in Thunder Bay remained at $1.109 on Thursday night.
Motorists in the city are paying nearly 40 cents a litres more than the lowest recorded prices in Ontario, the $0.799 cents a litre drivers in the Windsor area are shelling out at some stations.
The Thunder Bay price isn’t the highest price in the province. That dubious honour belongs to a gas station in Marathon, where gasoline costs $1.299 a litre.
The lowest price locally can be found at THP Variety and Gas Bar on City Road on Fort William First Nation, where gas is going for $0.987 a litre, according to gasbuddy.com.
The lowest off-reserve price is the $1.099 being charged at Superstore.
