THUNDER BAY – A 51-year-old woman was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 east of Longlac.
Ontario Provincial Police in a release said an eastbound SUV slammed into a westbound transport at about 10:30 a.m., when one of the vehicles crossed the median.
Highway 11 west of Hearst and east of Longlac was closed for a number of hours.
Kimberley Vaughan, who resided in Geraldton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer unit was not injured.
Police continue to investigate, but say road conditions were a factor in the crash.
