Glance at Crime: 41 thefts, 10 thefts from vehicle

The city's police were busy last week responding to more than 265 criminal incidents including 16 break and enters.

THUNDER BAY -- City police responded to more than 265 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, June 19 through Sunday, June 25.

Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.

This week’s report shows police were slightly busier on the south side, responding to 143 criminal incidents compared to 121 cases north of the Harbour Expressway.

The more than 265 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.

South of the Harbour Expressway, some of the more serious incidents included:

• 16 assaults
• 10 break and enters
• 13 property crimes
• 1 robbery
• 18 thefts
• 6 thefts from vehicle
• 4 thefts of vehicle
• 6 weapons charges

Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway some of the more serious incidents included:

• 11 assaults
• 6 break and enters
• 7 property crimes
• 2 robbery
• 23 thefts
• 4 thefts from vehicle
• 5 weapons charges

The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
