The Grade 7 classes at Ecole La Verendrye are working hard to keep the community warm.
Students are making blankets to help out those in need. Grade 7 teacher Nancy Dumas says after a successful class visit to the Dew Drop Inn soup kitchen, they began to look at other ways to make a difference in the community.
She says it's important that the blankets stay in the community and go to children in need.
She adds that because it’s Lent, it's a great time for her students to learn about giving.
The students are in the process of contacting a deserving community organization to donate the 20 blankets to.
