Although the current state of gridlock at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital has eased it's still causing concerns for both staff and patients.

The hospital has been in an almost constant state of gridlock since September of last year, meaning there are more patients than available beds. Hospital President and CEO of Andre Robichaud said they have seen a slight improvement but admits the gridlock issue will likely remain as an on-going problem.

Robichaud said the hospital needs to work with community partners to speed up movement of alternate level of care patients to other facilities.
