A Thunder Bay man pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 65-year-old Adam Yellowhead Thursday afternoon.

Joseph Wesley, 34, was charged with second-degree murder in August of last year in connection with Yellowhead's death.

Yellowhead’s body was found on Aug. 29, 2012 in a grassy area at the end of Field Street.

Wesley pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter Thursday at the Superior Court of Justice and his plea was accepted by the judge.

The conviction has not yet been registered because the agreed statement of facts has not been read in court.

The case has been adjourned to Sept. 16 when a sentencing hearing is expected to take place.
