THUNDER BAY — Provincial police have seized a gun during a search warrant execution in the city.

The OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team, along with members of 20 other police agencies, including Thunder Bay Police and Nishnawbe Aski Police, were involved in the investigation. 

Police arrested a 22-year-old man from Toronto who was located at a business on Oliver Road on May 14. 

Investigators collected a handgun along with eight rounds of ammunition, a cell phone, as well as more than 1,000 grams of a cutting agent that is used in drug trafficking. 

The accused is facing seven charges, most of which are related to firearms offences, and has been remanded into custody. 

The location of the residence was not included in the release, but TBnewswatch has requested more information.
