THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Patty Hajdu has launched a Canada Day call to area artists, offering a chance to have their work included in a calendar.

Hajdu wants residents of her riding to participate in an initiative that highlights the region's creative talent while drawing inspiration from what it means to be Canadian.

The MP said she is encouraging all artists to submit photos of their creative works in any medium inspired by this theme.

"We have an incredible arts community in Thunder Bay and the region, with many people who engage in a variety of ways to express themselves. This is an opportunity to share inspiring visions of what it means to be Canadian, present or future," Hajdu said.

She said she's been motivated by how Canadians have come together during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect each other, through actions exemplifying kindness, sacrifice and love.

Entries will be placed in a draw for inclusion in the MP's 2021 calendar to be distributed in the riding.

Submissions may be made through Hajdu's website.
