THUNDER BAY -- It appears Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Patty Hajdu will be seeking a third term in office.

The Liberal Party of Canada on Tuesday announced Canada's health minister will be their candidate in the riding for a third straight election.

She handily won the riding in 2015 and in 2019.

Hajdu was one of 22 Liberal candidates across the country announced by the party. Thunder Bay-Rainy River's Marcus Powlowski, first elected in 2019, was not one of those named.

There is no confirmed date for the election, though it must be held before Oct.16, 2023. The Liberals currently lead a minority government in the House of Commons.
