Construction of a Hampton Inn near Thunder Bay's airport is behind schedule, but is still happening according to the developer.

Jeffrey Crocco told CKPR Radio that the April start date has been moved to September or October since it took longer to complete environmental studies.

“It looks like we are going to be increasing the number of rooms that we had scheduled for the property,” Crocco said Thursday morning.

“We originally were looking at having 77 rooms, but we’re now looking at just north of 100 rooms for the property.”

He added that construction of the hotel will take about a year.
