Handgun, white powder seized from Home Avenue residence

Police release residence after executing search warrant.
Home Avenue 3

THUNDER BAY – Police have released a Home Avenue residence after seizing a handgun and a white powdery substance that’s been sent to Health Canada for investigation.

In a release issued on Wednesday, police say they executed a search warrant at the residence on Monday, a day after they were called to the home following a 911 call indicating a female and her boyfriend were being held at gunpoint at the residence.

Upon arrival police say the home was empty of occupants, but noted they had discovered a weapon and possible narcotics.

No arrests have yet been made.
