Police closed the Trans-Canada highway between Nipigon and Red Rock for about an hour Friday morning following a head on collision between two vehicles just west of Nipigon.
OPP officials say the drivers of both vehicles involved had to be taken to hospital.
The vehicles involved sustained extensive damage.
The highway reopened to traffic just before noon. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Injuries of the people taken to the hospital are unknown.
