The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced via a news release that the district’s first flu shot clinic will open its doors in Geraldton on Monday. Flu shot clinics will be opened around the region throughout the rest of the month, with the city’s first clinic scheduled to be available for the public by Nov. 1.
The Health Unit said it will be focusing on holding its flu shot clinics at larger sites. Some of the scheduled clinics will also be open for extended hours.
"Our goal every year is to vaccinate as many people as we can as efficiently as possible," Darlene Binette, the Health Unit’s manager of the infectious diseases program, is quoted as saying in a news release issued Monday.
"We believe the venues we’ve chosen and the longer hours will help us to do that, with the added advantage of providing the public with more accommodating and convenient environments."
