THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit's Dan DePeuter got a little love on Sunday night from none other than comedian John Oliver.

DePeuter, who has become the face of the health unit's light-hearted video series during the COVID-19 pandemic, was featured on the most recent episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, in a segment entitled Public Officials Prepare Children for a COVID Halloween.

"Kids are itching to get their costumes on and rustle up a Grade A scare," DePeuter said, dressed up as Spiderman -- without the mask. Others featured in the segment included the Oregon Health Authority, the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management, the city of Dubuque, Iowa and the city of Virginia Beach.

DePeuter acknowledged the clip being played on the HBO show, with a tweet.

"Sometimes I'm featured on @LastWeekTonight with @iamjohnoliver. No big deal, just doing my super famous thang. In spandex," he wrote.

The health unit also tweeted a response, taking a playful shot at Ottawa Public Health for not being on the show.
