Health Unit names new medical officer of health

An old face is returning to become the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s new medical officer of health. Dr. David Williams, who served the district health unit from 1991 until 2005, is returning to the role in October.

Dr. David Williams, who served the district health unit from 1991 until 2005, is returning to the role in October. 

Williams has been working as a medical officer at the provincial level for the past six years.  

The Health Unit’s previous medical officer of health, Dr. Henry Kurban, left in April after a year on the job. 

The Health Unit also announced the future hiring of an associate medical Officer of Health.  Dr. Janet DeMille will assume that role in September 2012.
