THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting 17 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of active cases in the district to 170.
Of the new cases, 10 are listed as close contact, one is from the ongoing outbreak at the Thunder Bay District Jail, two are listed with no known exposure, and four are pending.
Thunder Bay and surrounding areas account of 16 of the new cases and one is reported in a First Nation community.
There are 13 additional cases listed as resolved but the total number of active cases has risen to 170 compared to 166 on Wednesday.
The cumulative total of confirmed cases since the pandemic began is 1,240.
There are currently 12 people in hospital with four in the intensive care unit.
