Health unit reporting 23 new COVID-19 cases

THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting 23 new cases of COVID-19 in the region, 14 of which are at Southbridge Roseview Manor.

Of the remaining cases, eight are determined to be the result of close contact and one is listed as pending.

The 14 cases at Southbridge Roseview are the result of surveillance testing conducted on staff and residents on Dec. 21.

According to the Southbridge Roseview website, there are 21 active cases of COVID-19 among residents and 10 active staff cases.

The new cases reported on Wednesday brings the total number of active cases in the region to 106, with an additional 15 cases determined to be resolved.

There are currently no active cases in the hospital or ICU.
