THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting three new positive cases of COVID-19 in the region.

Two of the cases are listed as close contact in the exposure category, but one case is listed with no known exposure.

The three cases reported on Monday brings the total number of cumulative cases in the district to 132 and follows several days of new cases reported.

Over the weekend, there were 11 new cases reported in the district, all being traced to close contacts.

Dr. Janet DeMille, chief medical officer of health with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, said it is good news that all those cases could be traced.

However, the new case reported on Monday is the first case in the most recent cluster that does not have a known exposure.

The Health Unit is reminding the public to continue to follow all public health measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
