THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has reported four new cases of COVID-19 Friday, capping off a week with the most new cases reported since early summer.
Of the new cases, three were in district communities, while one was in a First Nation located in the district. All four were attributed to close contact with a previously identified case.
That brought the total number of active cases across the district to 16.
The health unit has reported 15 new cases over the past seven days, the most in any single week since mid-June.
Of those, only two were in the Thunder Bay area, with five in district communities and eight in First Nations.
There was one district resident hospitalized with the virus on Friday, unchanged from the previous day.
The neighbouring Northwestern Health Unit reported no new cases Friday.
