THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported four new COVID-19 cases Saturday, with the daily case count remaining in the single figures for a fifth straight day.
With five previous cases declared resolved, the number of confirmed active cases in the district fell to 56, the lowest total since Jan. 8.
All four of the cases reported Saturday involved residents of Thunder Bay and the surrounding areas. Two were attributed to household contact, and two to travel outside of Northwestern Ontario.

The TBDHU's incidence rate stood at approximately 28.01 cases per 100,000 people over the past week, its lowest level since Jan. 6.
The health unit reported a testing positivity rate of 1.8 per cent for April 4 to 10, the most recent data it has reported. It reports 3,057 tests conducted over that period, but notes those numbers could still be incomplete.
