THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting a new positive case of COVID-19 in the area.
The new case was reported Monday afternoon and episode date is listed as Oct. 24, with an exposure category designated as close contact.
The individual is self-isolating.
This brings the total number of cases reported in the Thunder Bay District to 115.
This is the fifth new COVID-19 case reported in the district in the last week, with four new cases reported on Oct. 23.
The latest positive test come as the province is seeing a surge of COVID-19 cases, reporting more than 1,000 new cases on Sunday, the highest number since the pandemic began.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reminding the public to continue to practice all public health guidelines.
