THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is warning the public about a potential COVID-19 scam.

The organization says anyone receiving a recorded message saying it's the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and that they've tested positive for COVID-19 should hang up as the call is not legitimate.

"If you test positive for COVID-19, we will contact you by phone, but we will never use a recorded message to deliver this information."
