Heavy rainfall alert in effect for Thunder Bay

Up to 50 millimetres could fall by Tuesday morning in some areas, localized flooding is possible.

THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada says a heavy rainfall alert is in effect.

Rain will at times be heavy during the day and into the evening, bringing the wet stuff to regions along Lake Superior in th emorning, and to communities along the north and east shore of the lake in the afternoon and evening.

Rainfall amounts could be as high as between 20 and 30 millimetres, but it's possible some areas could receive up to 50 millimetres by Tuesday morning.

Localized flooding is possible.
