Heavy snow could hit city and surrounding areas

THUNDER BAY – A special weather statement has been issued for the city of Thunder Bay.

According to Environment Canada, areas of heavy snow and poor travel conditions are likely for Sunday night, the weather service noting that some spots may see as much as 10 centimetres of snow.

The snow may fall heavily for most of the night, particularly area inland from Lake Superior. The snow is expected to change to rain later Sunday night or on Monday morning.
