MANITOUWADGE, Ont. -- A high risk offender is now living in Manitouwadge, Ont., provincial police announced Thursday.
The OPP made the announcement in accordance with the Police Services Act after Gordon Joseph Oliver, 74, was released from custody. The man now lives on Otter Avenue in the Northern Ontario town.
Oliver was previous convictions include sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
He is bound by a number of conditions and cannot have any contact, directly or indirectly, with anyone under the age of 16 years unless they are in the company of their legal guardian.
He is also prohibited from attending a public park, playground, daycare, school ground, community centre or swimming area where persons under the age of 14 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present.
Oliver must also notify the Manitouwadge detachment of the OPP if he changes his address and when he is travelling out of the community.
Police say Oliver is a Caucasian man standing 5’7” and weighing 215 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes.
