One of those good deeds has several students welcoming visiting seniors to the school for an afternoon of entertainment.

High school teacher Rob Magnusson said the initiative is good for everyone.

“I think the opportunities for seniors and students to get together have sort of diminishing as kids change,” Magnusson said. “The time they spend with grandparents is not as much as it used to be when I was young and I think this gives (the students) some positive time with seniors.”

Other students will spend part of the Tuesday collecting litter from school grounds and the surrounding neighbourhood as part of a community spring cleanup.
