THUNDER BAY -- Traffic headed westward out of Thunder Bay and eastward into the city was halted on Saturday night due to a collision on Highway 11/17.
Ontario Provincial Police say the incident occurred at Sistonens Corners, leading them to close Highway 11/17 between Shabaqua and Highway 590 in Kakabeka Falls, and Highway 102 between Mapleward Road and Highway 11/17.
A prolonged closure is expected.
Police, in a post to the OPP Northwest's Twitter account just after 11 p.m., said the reopening time is unknown. Details of the crash, including any injuries, have not been provided.
