A collision involving a transport truck has closed Highway 17 between Ignace and Upsala, the Ministry of Transportation reported Friday night.
A jacknifed transport had fully blocked the highway near Sand Lake Road, according to Ontario 511.
The MTO advised drivers to avoid the area, saying detours were not available.
The incident came as a mix of precipitation hit the region, with Environment Canada issuing a rainfall warning for the Ignace area and calling for 30 to 50 millimetres of rainfall that could begin as snow, freezing rain, and ice pellets Friday night.
