THUNDER BAY — A portion of the Trans-Canada Highway west of Thunder Bay has reopened after being closed due to poor road conditions Monday morning.
The Ministry of Transportation had closed both lanes of Highway 17 between Shabaqua and Ignace because of weather conditions, but later in the morning the closure was extended west to Dryden.
At 12:33 p.m. the MTO issued a bulletin announcing that traffic was moving on the highway once again.
Motorists are advised to check Ontario 511 for updates about the status of Northwestern Ontario highways.
