THUNDER BAY -- Two people were taken to hospital Monday night following a collision on Highway 11/17.
Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a transport and car around 9:30 p.m. on Highway 11/17 near Mirror Lake.
Upon arrival, fire crews reported that airbags were deployed and the passenger stuck in the vehicle required extrication.
Crews used hydraulic extrication equipment to free the passenger and bring them to a waiting ambulance with both occupants taken to the hospital.
Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind the travelling public to use caution while driving in poor weather conditions and allow for extra time or delay travel until conditions improve.
