Highway 17 crash victim identified

Colin Mathis, 44, of McKerrow, Ont. was killed in two-vehicle collision on Tuesday near Bryant Township.

MARATHON – Police have identified the victim in a fatal motor vehicle collision that left a 44-year-old man dead near Bryant Township, Ont.

OPP, in a release issued on Thursday, said McKerrow, Ont.’s Colin Mathis was killed on Tuesday afternoon when his westbound vehicle collided with an eastbound tractor trailer unit on Highway 17.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The highway was closed for nine hours as a result of the crash.
