Hiring climate likely status quo for most local employers in 2016

THUNDER BAY – Most employers in this city do not plan to hire, or lay off, any workers in the first three months of next year.

THUNDER BAY – Most employers in this city do not plan to hire, or lay off, any workers in the first three months of next year.

That information is according to a new Manpower Employment Outlook Survey that take a look at possible hiring trends of first quarter 2016.

The survey found that 10 per cent of employers plan to hire more workers, and 13 per cent anticipate cutbacks.

It should be a more promising hiring climate than the previous quarter, but worse than the first months of 2015.
