THUNDER BAY -- Our city's Finnish history is now on display to the public.
The Finlandia Association has turned their former bar at the Finnish Labour Temple into a heritage room.
The room on the 2nd floor showcases Finnish history in Thunder Bay, dating back 104 years.
It includes displays from war veterans, sports trophies, choirs and orchestras that appeared in the hall and photos of the building when it was first built.
Finlandia Association vice-president Ron Harpelle says this investment was possible thanks to the funds raised through the Indie-go-go fundraiser last spring.
Harpelle adds that the idea behind the heritage room is to give the building a boost.
