Hit-and-run causes damage to apartment building

Thunder Bay police say a car rammed into an apartment at Valley Street and Strand Avenue late Tuesday night.

THUNDER BAY — City police are reaching out to anyone who may have witnessed a motor vehicle collision on Valley Street on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. near the Strand Avenue intersection.

Police said a car travelling south on Strand proceeded through the T-intersection and struck an apartment building, causing significant damage.

The driver then put the vehicle into reverse and sped eastbound on Valley toward the Thunder Bay Expressway.

Residents of the apartment at the point of impact were not injured, police said.

The car is described as a lighter-coloured, smaller vehicle.
