Hodder Avenue assault now considered a homicide

Police say a 29-year-old man died of his injuries after an alleged assault at a residence in the 400 block of the Current River street.

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police are investigating a homicide on the city's north side.

Police, were initially dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Hodder Avenue on Monday night, at about 11:30 p.m., where they found an adult male who had suffered injuries following an alleged assault.

The 29-year-old male victim from Thunder Bay, whose name is not being released by police at this time, later died as a result of his injuries, despite life-saving efforts administered on scene.

Police say further investigation has led them to treat the incident as a homicide.

A post-mortem examination took place on Wednesday in Thunder Bay.

The investigation remains ongoing.
