Hogarth Riverview Manor down to single COVID-19 outbreak

The health unit is tracking only one remaining COVID-19 outbreak at Hogarth Riverview Manor, after the long-term care home was hit with multiple outbreaks in recent weeks.

THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared over in one area of Hogarth Riverview Manor, while another section of the Thunder Bay long-term care home remains in an active outbreak.

The facility has faced numerous outbreaks of COVID-19 in recent weeks, with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit at one point tracking outbreaks in four separate resident areas.

On Wednesday, the health unit declared an outbreak in the Lilac resident home area (4 South) is now considered over. The outbreak was first announced on May 17.

The 1st floor of Hogarth Riverview Manor remains in an outbreak, the health unit reports.

TBnewswatch has reached out to St. Joseph’s Care Group for comment on this story. The organization has previously declined to share details on COVID outbreaks in its facilities.
