THUNDER BAY -- City police arrested a man suspected of twice breaking into a southside home Wednesday evening and robbing the residents at knifepoint.
Thunder Bay Police Service officials say a Frederica Street homeowner heard a window smash at the rear of the residence just after 11:30 p.m. The homeowner immediately called 911.
Police say a man with his face covered and possessing a knife was observed entering the home through the window of the rear porch. The man demanded money and took a knapsack located in the porch before fleeing.
The homeowner was able to secure the back door.
Moments later the same man re-entered the home through the window. One of the homeowners fled the house and the other was threatened by the man and fled to the the house shortly after.
Both victims waited there for the police in the safety of their own car.
The suspect fled on foot.
Police say officers arrived on scene and found a man matching the descriptors of the suspect at the intersection of Francis Street and James Street.
The man was taken into custody without incident.
Police officers found items taken from the homeowner’s wallet after searching the suspect.
A search of the suspect subsequent to the arrest located items take from the homeowner's wallet.
Christopher Marvin Raymer, 28, has been charged with two counts of break and enter, wearing a disguise with intent and carrying a concealed weapon.
He made a court appearance Thursday and has been remanded to the district jail.
