THUNDER BAY – A pair of men have been arrested in conjunction with a robbery at a Tuscany Drive home.

City police on Thursday said officers responded to a reported altercation at the residence at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, but when they arrived three males hopped into a vehicle, backed into the police cruiser and fled the scene.

According to a release issued by police, the three suspects had approached two residents outside the home and ordered them into the garage, where items were taken from them and they were assaulted.

Police say the parties are known to each other and as a result the driver of the vehicle was identified and a search began.

The suspect was located by police on Tuesday night at about 11:50 a.m. in the Ogden Street area, but an attempt to stop the vehicle was unsuccessful.

The vehicle was located shortly afterward in the area of Southern Avenue and May Street, where the driver exited it and was taken into custody on Wiley Street, after a short chase on foot.

Charles Norman Casmey, 31, was charged with two counts of robbery and forcible confinement, flight from police, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

Later on Tuesday a second suspect, 29-year-old Cason Eade, turned himself into police headquarters and was charged with two counts of robbery and forcible confinement.
