Homicide reported at Kam River Heritage Park

THUNDER BAY — Police are investigating the death of a man at the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park as a homicide.

The Thunder Bay Police Service issued a brief statement Monday morning saying emergency services were called to the park early Saturday after a civilian passerby found an unresponsive adult male. 

He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The major crimes unit and forensic identification unit are involved in the ongoing investigation, and police said they continue to maintain a presence in the area.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled for a later date.
