Hornepayne man faces multiple charges after violent incidents

The accused was on probation when he allegedly assaulted two people.

HORNEPAYNE, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a 40-year-old man after violent incidents in Hornepayne on the weekend.

Police allege that he assaulted and threatened one victim, then broke into a residence and assaulted a second person.

The man was charged with:

  • assault causing bodily harm by choking, suffocating or strangling
  • overcoming resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
  • breaking into a dwelling house
  • uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm (two counts)
  • failure to comply with a probation order (two counts)

The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
