HORNEPAYNE, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a 40-year-old man after violent incidents in Hornepayne on the weekend.
Police allege that he assaulted and threatened one victim, then broke into a residence and assaulted a second person.
The man was charged with:
- assault causing bodily harm by choking, suffocating or strangling
- overcoming resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
- breaking into a dwelling house
- uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm (two counts)
- failure to comply with a probation order (two counts)
The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
