Hotel fire deals extensive damage

THUNDER BAY – City fire crews responded to a structural fire at a north side hotel late Monday night.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue was called to the Travelodge Hotel on Memorial Avenue around 10:40 p.m. and found smoke visible on the second floor.

Those in the building were evacuated by staff and firefighters.

The crews completed a primary search to eliminate the chance of anyone in the fire room.

Once the fire was under control the crews checked for any extension into other rooms, but there was none.

The room suffered extensive damage with no injuries.
