Officials with the Travelodge Hotel chain are getting ready to re-open parts of their hotel on Memorial Avenue, following a major fire there last month.
The early-morning blaze broke out on Oct. 22. Travelodge spokesman Mike Bobbitt said the fire and smoke damage is expected to exceed $1 million.
Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
While there's no official report yet, Bobbitt said the fire is believed to have been caused by an unattended pot in the adjoining Sushi Station restaurant.
Clean-up efforts continue, and Bobbitt said the hotel should partially re-open on Nov.16.
But he added that it could be up to six months before the hotel and restaurant are fully operational.
