No person was injured, but a family’s dog did die following a house fire Tuesday evening.
Thunder Bay Firefighters were called to a Sprague Street home just after 5 p.m. Platoon Chief Kim Hutch said thick black smoke was already billowing from the house when crews arrived.
Hutch added that the fire originated in the basement of the house. Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading beyond the basement.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and now under investigation.
